As many of you know from twitter, facebook, and Ursula’s blog, I got word on Wednesday that my contract was closing on Dec 23. While the timing looks pretty bad, there are some positives :

• We accomplished everything the contract was supposed to accomplish
• We did it in 18 months, vs. the original 24 specified
• The customer is happy

And in the end, those three things are what matters.

So now I’m in the unenviable position of job hunting. For those of you who’ve been out of work, you’re probably thinking “you poor bastard, in this economy?” but the truth is, there is work out there, it just takes some effort to find it.

So let the effort begin!

…first thing Monday morning. Right now, it’s the weekend, and it’s been a rough week…

Ugh. Had a coughing fit last night around 3 or 4 in the morning--couldn't sleep. Finally realized it was because my room was too warm, so I opened up a window to get some fresh air. Fixed that problem in a pinch.
Then some ASSHOLE decided it'd be a great idea to do hammering at 8:00 am in the room below us. For at least 5 hours. So my sleep was, at best, horrible.

Who does hammering at 8 in the morning?
